About
I’m Phoebe - a passionate wine professional with a decade of experience in the industry.
British-born with Swiss roots, I left my hometown of London in 2019 and am now incredibly grateful to call the beautiful mountain town of Chamonix my home. When I’m not tasting wine with clients or sharing a bottle of Pet-Nat with friends, you can find me skiing, trail running or cycling in the mountains.
People always ask me how I ended up in wine and my honest answer is “by accident.” I didn’t grow up knowing the difference between Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. In fact, I knew very little until, after graduating with a degree in French and Spanish and keen to work in a multilingual environment, I landed an internship at one of London’s biggest wine importers. Within a week, I knew I had found my place, and I fell head-over-heels with the world of wine.
Over the years, I have worked in various sectors of the industry, starting in buying and moving into sales and teaching when I moved to the Alps in 2019. Alongside work, I completed the WSET Diploma in 2020 and eager to share this knowledge, I became a WSET-Certified Educator in 2022, and I now run courses here in the Alps.
In 2024, hungry for a new challenge, I applied to join the prestigious Master of Wine program and was honoured to be accepted along with 100 other students. One year in and this rollercoaster of a journey has only just begun but above all, it has helped me focus my goals, as well as introduce me to some incredible people who are leading the way in the wine industry. All of this has reminded me that what I love most about working in wine, is the people.
